For more than 32 years, Delaware was home.
I grew up surrounded by farm fields and trees, the kind of quiet rural landscape that so many people love about this area. Later I lived in the small town of Houston, Delaware, where life moves a little slower and neighbors still know each other.
Recently our family made the move to Maryland. It wasn’t a huge distance geographically, but it still felt like a big life change.
Even though I now call Maryland home, my roots will always be in Delaware.
Growing Up Delaware
Delaware is where so many of my memories were made.
I went to Cape.
I had my babies at Beebe.
I spent summers swimming at Cape Henlopen State Park.
I remember walking the boardwalk on hot, humid nights in the summer. Going to concerts at the Delaware State Fair. Driving the back roads late at night with the windows down.
And of course, sitting in beach traffic more times than I can count.
If you grew up here, you know exactly what I mean.
Those experiences are part of what makes Delaware feel like home for so many people.
A New Chapter Across the Line
Moving to Maryland has been an exciting new chapter for our family.
One thing that makes the Eastern Shore unique is how connected everything is. People move between Delaware and Maryland all the time. Some people choose Delaware for the beaches or tax benefits. Others move into Maryland for more space or a different pace of life.
Crossing the state line doesn’t mean leaving the community behind. The Eastern Shore still feels like one big connected area.
Seeing the Move From Both Sides
Going through our own move gave me a whole new perspective.
Even as a REALTOR, there were still late nights packing, preparing our home, balancing work and kids, and navigating the emotions that come with a big life change.
It reminded me that moving isn’t just about contracts and closing dates. It’s about families, memories, and starting the next chapter.
Still Deeply Connected to Delaware
Even though I now live in Maryland, Delaware will always be a huge part of my life.
It’s where I grew up, where my memories are, and where I continue helping clients buy and sell homes.
Living here on the Eastern Shore gives me the chance to see both sides of the Delaware and Maryland markets and help people navigate their moves between the two.
Because whether someone is moving across town or across the state line, the goal is always the same.
Helping them find the place that feels like home
